In addition to the more commonly used slitting methods (razor, shear, score) Pinnacle Converting has integrated methods such as ultrasonic slitting into machines for our clients. This method produces a sealed edge on the material without creating a bead along the edge which can cause the end of the roll to bulk or develop a larger diameter. The ultrasonic machine seen in the demonstration uses a Sonobond Ultrasonics module to slit and seal material at a very high frequency as the roll is unwound and passed over the anvil onto the rewind shaft. This machine also was built with an edge guide system, diameter sensors, cable emergency stops, easy to access and use controls, and other features that make the machine efficient for everyday use.
